Problem running NiceWatch in service mode

Problem

When the trigger fires, you might receive the error message in the log pane:

Cannot connect to print server application! Reinstall the program
from original disk. - Cannot run Server application! System error
message: Server execution failed, ProgID: "NiceLabel5.Engine" -
Cannot run Server application! System error message:
Server execution failed, ProgID: "NiceLabel5.Engine"

 

Solution

Upgrade to the newest NiceWatch.

Or check the following registry key. The reference to the print engine might not be correctly saved to the registry.

Do the following:

  1. Select Start -> Run, type in "regedit".
  2. Navigate to the key
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{4DF8E039-22E6-4494-90E6-D6822C1853F2}\LocalServer32\(Default)
  3. Make sure the value reads:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\EuroPlus Shared\NiceEngine 5\nengine5.exe" /Automation
    In some versions the quotes around the application name were missing.
