Cannot run print engine from NiceWatch

Problem

When you run a trigger you might see the following message in the NiceWatch manager:

Cannot connect to print server application! Reinstall the program from original disk.
- Cannot run Server application! System error message: Access is denied. -
ProgID: "NiceLabel5.Engine" - Cannot run Server application! System error message:
Access is denied, ProgID: "NiceLabel5.Engine"

Solution

The problem is caused by the fact that NiceLabel print engine is no longer registered in your Windows system. This is an unexpected behavior and could be cause by the installation/removal of some other application.

There are two solutions:

  1. Reinstall your NiceLabel product. During the reinstallation select the option Repair. You will keep all configuration and activation of your NiceLabel software.
  2. Manually re-register the NiceLabel print engine. Open a command-line prompt and type in the following. The provided path will work on English Windows XP system, update it accordingly to your Windows OS.

    "c:\Program Files\Common Files\EuroPlus Shared\NiceEngine 5\nengine5.exe" /regserver
